shopping for specialty food items

I have to agree with the prior review...Olde Hudson in Hudson is a great place to shop for specialty food items. I stopped in several times over the holidays for cheese plate items for holiday entertaining and everything was delicious. Fine cheeses, rosemary flat bread, chorizo and soprasata were quickly eaten up! But the biggest treat is the fresh bread from the former Sullivan Street bakery. They pick it up every friday from the city...yum! The people that work there were always helpful and pleasant. One time, we were driving through Hudson in need of bread for dinner and we past Olde Hudson as the owner was leaving and had already locked the door behind her. She was kind enough to re-open the store, without hesitation and graciously offered us a wonderful choice of bread. We had it half eaten before we even got home!

I love the charm of shopping in this little store. It doesn't hurt that they carry my all time favorite bread from Gran Daisy (formally Sullivan street bakery) Great Cheese and organic meat and pure olive oil are also on my shopping list! In addition they have a bath section where I have purchased some fabulous body butter, so good in these dry times that I keep going back for more :) A discerning eye has chosen the kitchen linens and the proprietors Dick and Deana are friendly and helpful. She's adorable and he's funny! makes shopping for tasty delights a pleasure!
